Breaking News! The Black is Lit Book Club Experience Is Back & Better Than Ever!

Book Club FAQs:

Where or how do I sign up to join/become a member of the Black Is Lit Book Club Experience?
All that's necessary to join or participate in the Black Is Lit Book Club Experience is that you pick up a copy of the featured text and read along with us via the given reading schedule. As most meetings are not "live," but pre-recorded by the host, the reading schedules are merely suggested, as viewers are actually able to read at their own pace and watch/listen to corresponding episode accordingly. By subscribing to the February365! YouTube Channel and activating notifications, you become an official member of the Ezinulo (family).

Is the Black Is Lit Book Club Experience exclusively for black readers/people?
Absolutely not. A huge part of the February365! mission is to broaden awareness and appreciation for black culture, black experiences, and black lives. An important way that this mission can be accomplished is through the sharing of literature, art, and music across all races, creeds, and cultures. While the Black Is Lit Book Club Experience primarily features literary works by black and other authors of color, and featured selections highlight black and multicultural experiences, we welcome and encourage everyone to join us in discovering and immersing ourselves in a kaleidoscope of literary styles from black and multicultural voices.

How much are book club dues and how often are they collected from members?
The Black Is Lit Book Club Experience is a labor of love; therefore, aside from the potential purchase price of any given featured reading selection, which readers are responsible for incurring, there are no fees associated with participating.

To this end, we support readers purchasing their preferred book format(s) - paperback, Kindle, audiobook, etc. - from their preferred and/or usual retail source(s). Utilizing local libraries and supporting local and/or second-hand books stores are also great options.

When is the first book club Episode and how should I prepare in advance for it?
The debut Episode of February365!'s Black Is Lit Book Club Experience premieres on Sunday, December 10, 2023 on the February365! YouTube ChannelTo prepare, read chapters 1 - 10 of the featured selection, which is, The Reformatory by Tananarive Due.
